Vaccine Special for Care Home Teams

  • 11 Dec 2020
  • 14:00 - 15:00 (GMT)
  • Online Zoom Call

For the last 8 months we have all lived with the cloud of COVID-19 hanging over our heads, and now, finally, there appears to be a break in the sky with the first vaccine having been licensed in the UK.

Health and Social Care staff have been prioritised and will be amongst the first people in the country to be vaccinated today. These are exciting developments as they make the idea of lifting restrictions in 2021 as a very real possibility.

For many however the idea of being vaccinated just brings more anxiety. A vaccine, against a new virus, developed in a new way in less than a year. Is it safe? How do we know if it is safe? What are the risks?

Familiar questions? Well we may be able to help.

The Directors of Devon Care Homes Collaborative would like to invite you to an online session to learn more about the vaccine to help to make the decision whether to take the vaccine or not.

This will be taking place on
Friday 11th December 2020 at 14:00.

Guy Mozolowski, microbiologist and Chief Scientific Officer at Vaxport is joining us to explain how this vaccine was developed and to answer your questions.

He will be joined on the panel by Bridget Spooner, Infection Control Nurse from RD&E and Eve Carder, Clinical Director at Evolve Care Group.
