Research-informed care homes workshops - Session 1

As part of the University of Exeter and Care Homes Knowledge Collaboration (ExCHANGE), colleagues at the University along with the Devon Care Homes Collaborative are running a course of workshops with the aim to provide people working in care homes with the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand and engage with research and research evidence.

These workshops are the first stage in developing a package of resources to support care homes, and link in with PenARC's Making Sense of Evidence programme.

Session 1: ‘Research-friendly’ care homes: What are they, and what are benefits?

24th May 2021 - 10am-12pm

Workshops are aimed at those who own, manage or work in care homes who have an interest in research and how research can improve practice in your care home.

Content:

  • Exploring what research is, and what it is not; demystifying and dispelling myths
  • Highlighting the benefits of being a ‘research friendly’ care home
  • Exploring what it means to be ‘research friendly’ in practice
  • Self-reflection – how ‘research friendly’ is your care home?
