Development of new digital self-assessment tool, ‘What Good Looks Like’ (WGLL), for social care organisations

Skills for Care are currently working with the Digital Care Hub and Partners for Care & Health to develop a brand-new digital self-assessment tool called ‘What Good Looks Like’ (WGLL) for social care organisations.
The WGLL tool involves a series of self-assessment questions that can help organisations to review their digital maturity and capabilities against the success measures of the digital WGLL framework for social care. You can click here for more information about the framework.
Upon completing the questions, the self-assessment provides a downloadable report that can be used to signpost areas for further digital focus and development. The tool can support organisations in developing their digital vision and roadmap, making the case for digital change, and driving digital transformation.
As part of our development activity, we are looking for two social care providers in our region who would be interested in receiving a supported on-site visit at their service or head office, from mid-February to early March, to complete the self-assessment, and review their digital maturity and capabilities prior to the national release of the WGLL tool planned for the end of March.
The visit to complete the self-assessment would last approximately just one hour.
As part of this activity, we would also be seeking your support to develop a short case study from the activity, which would be based on your experience of using the tool, and how it can shape and contribute to your organisations’ digital development, direct areas of focus, and help steer future activities and decisions. Our Marketing & Communications team would support with this work to minimise the impact on your time.
Please do get in touch if you wish to take part in this activity. You will be able to ask questions and have full sight of the self-assessment prior to our visit.
You can also contact robert.smith@skillsforcare.org.uk for an informal discussion about how the visit would look prior to deciding if you wish to take part.
