New Security Measures for DCC Teams Meetings

Devon County Council (DCC) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of security and data protection. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are implementing changes to Microsoft Teams Meeting settings to enhance security and protect the privacy of our data.

This means that all non-signed in external users joining a Microsoft Teams meeting will need to pass a CAPTCHA challenge. This new measure ensures that only human participants, not bots, can join our meetings.

This change affects all anonymous users and any external users not signed in to a Microsoft account. The goal is to protect DCC data and comply with Data Protection laws by preventing unauthorised AI software from accessing our meetings.

A CAPTCHA challenge involves simple tasks like identifying objects in images or typing out distorted text, ensuring that only real people can join. This proactive step will help safeguard our meetings and webinars, providing a secure and compliant environment for everyone involved.

Please be prepared for this new layer of security in our Teams meetings!
